Calvin N. Mooersによるもので，Gordon E. Mooreによる，ムーアの法則（Moore's Law）とは違うので注意．
「ユーザにとって情報を持たないことより持つことのほうがより苦痛で面倒である時には必ず，情報検索システムが利用されにくくなる傾向が見られるであろう．」（訳はPeter Morville著「アンビエント・ファインダビリティより」）
"An information retrieval system will tend not to be used whenever it is more painful and troublesome for a customer to have information than for him not to have it"
